My Goal was to Continue Working from Home
“I am able to spend more time with my family and pets.”
I consider myself a "Jill of All Trades". They say that "Learning is a continuous process" so, like a character in a game, I would like to continue pursuing different quests, acquire new skills, improve old ones I already have, reach the maximum level and gain expertise.
-- Do you have any hobbies?
Hobbies? I have many hobbies! Actually, deep down inside I think it would be fair to say that I’m a bit of a computer nerd. I think it’s pretty obvious when you look at the list of skills that I have declared on my Workshift profile page, which starts like this:
But I also have a creative side of me, which is reflected in the other skills that I have written on my profile page:
A list of my hobbies includes the following activities: drawing and painting, reading books, watching anime, playing online games, studying web design and development, playing with my pets, taking photos of food, animals and scenic places, eating delicious food, and whenever possible, travelling.
-- How did you get involved with Workshift?
My goal was to continue working from home, so one day, while I was searching for opportunities for online work and looking at different freelancing platforms, I came across the Workshift website. I gave it a try and was able to get into a few competitions / projects. The first job was a blog writing job and the second job was a character design job. Then the third job was completely different, marketing. The wide variety of jobs offered on Workshift allows me to take advantage of my broad range of skills.
-- What are the benefits of working from home?
Since starting to work online from home my schedule has become more flexible. I am able to spend more time with my family and pets, which I was unable to do before! I am also able to start and finish a lot more things while working and studying!
-- What is your future plan?
I plan to continue my freelancing as long as there are projects to work on, and I will do my best to keep improving my knowledge and skills. To win jobs one must continue to persevere despite the difficulty and competition winning the approval of clients.
-- What are your impressions of Workshift?
I can say this about Workshift. It has an easy and fast registration process. An intuitive platform / user interface, and I would say an awesome and helpful customer support team. It sends out payment on time and searching for jobs is easy. Getting accepted for a project requires patience, but it warmly welcomes freelancers from different countries.
For people without Japanese skills it has a reliable translation tool embedded for you to use for free. However, they may need to list more job posts.
-- Did you receive payment smoothly?
Yes, I received payment from Workshift for my work with no problems. They show a payment timeline on their site, which gives guidance on when to expect your payment.
-- Do you have any advice for new Workshift freelancers?
It may be hard at first to find and get a job that matches your skill set but don't be afraid or intimidated to explore the platform and apply for jobs. Be sure to fill-in your profile details. Make use of the translation tool to translate the job posts to your preferred language. Also, don’t be afraid to ask support if you need help. And finally, don't give up.
