I really like freelancing because I am spending time with something useful.

Hi everyone, my name is Rodrigo! I am from Brazil and I have just turned 31 one years old this last month! I live in Belo Horizonte the capital of Minas Gerais, the third most populous state in my country. Minas Gerais is well known for its culinary and historic architecture. This year will be a special year because I am engaged and I will get married soon!

- What is the typical day like for you?

I will tell you a little bit about my daily life. I work as a Human Resources analyst for multinational company that builds trucks, busses and agricultural and construction equipment. My day normally starts at 07:00 AM when I wake-up, take a shower and have breakfast. I go driving to work because it is somewhat far from where I live and work starts at 08:00 AM. The place where I work is a big factory and it has a restaurant where I have lunch with my colleagues. I leave around 06:00 PM and after arriving at home, taking another shower and eating something I start my freelancer activities. Sometimes during the week I also like to go to the gym after work.

- What do you do with your free time?

I really like freelancing because I am spending my time with something useful and I can apply my capabilities and make some extra money.
My hobbies are photographing, running, traveling and watching movies and I am the owner of a website that advertise country houses and party halls in the region.

- Why did you join/register with Workshift?

The catalyst for joining Workshift is the possibility to apply some features and competencies that I would not normally apply in my formal job. Besides practicing my English skills and making some extra money, I also think freelancing is a good way to improve your professional skills in an area that life did not lead you to but you really would like to follow. Moreover, Workshift offers many job opportunities so it is the ideal place to find a job where I can apply my knowledge and competences.

It is also interesting to have the possibility to have some contact with Japanese culture, which I appreciate very much. I really would like to learn some Japanese and visit the country.

- How does freelancing fit your lifestyle?

I see only good things on working for Workshift because I can decide on what I will work, how much I want for a specific job and how long I will take to complete it. I can decide if I will work during the week or on the weekends, during the day or at night. As I said before when I am freelancing I am spending my free time with something useful, something that has value for both the client and me.

- How have your future plans changed as a result of working with Workshift?

Having an extra job and making some extra money really helped me during this last year because I am planning my wedding and the extra money really helped on this task. Therefore, I really want to be part of Workshift for even more years and be able to deliver good results. I also want to apply some skills I am developing with image and picture processing and manipulation.

- What is impression of Workshift?

Workshift is a very organized company and offers many possibilities of work, it is interesting because no matter what skills you have you will be able to use it on a freelancing job with the company. Something that I really like in the company are the emails with the new job opportunities they send periodically and the short history about someone that is a freelancer at Workshift. From this I could know other people from Brazil that are also part of the team.

- What is your advice for new freelancers?

One advice I would give for new freelancers is to be organized with your schedule and find a quiet place where you spend your time working. I would also recommend to make and extra check before delivering your task. Working as a freelancer has benefits but also its duties so I really encourage new freelancers to do their best and deliver good pieces of work because in another part of the world there is someone counting with the skills and the competences you have.
