Thank you for expressing your interest in being part of our translation project!

We are currently running a beta version of our cross-border ecommerce service, and are looking for people who can translate our product information from Japanese into English. The details are as follows:

1. Fees & Rates
- We pay a rate of 1.5 Japanese Yen per character
- The character count per product averages 500 characters, but may vary wildly by category
- You can expect to be paid between \5000 - \10,000 per project
- Existing translators usually receive projects totalling \30,000 - \50,000 (including transaction fees) per month
- We revise rates upwards for translators who consistently deliver high quality results (we have checkers who grade completed work)

2. Quality
- Consider if your non-Japanese speaking friends would be able to understand what the product is; we do not require word-for-word translations
- But don't modify the details for each products (ingredients, materials, sizes, etc)
- You may leave out parts of the original text on your own discretion; we will let you know beforehand if there are specifics that we don't want to be left out
- Research will be required for specific categories (Eg. technical terms, proper nouns for chemical names, commonly used names of plants, manufacturing processes for clothes, etc.)
- Please flag Japanese terms that you are unsure about, or need help understanding

3. Delivery
- Each project must be completed within 3-5 business days once accepted
- We will work around your schedule so that you can cope with the volume we require

4. Rules
- No copy-and-pasting from other websites, books, or other media
- The submission of unedited translations generated by translation machines will result in non-payment
- C-Connect Corporation owns the copyright on the translations you submit
- These translations may be edited as necessary

5. Questions
We are open between 10:00 - 19:00 Tokyo Time on weekdays, and closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese Public Holidays.
