Professional Experience
As a former executive director at Morgan Stanley, I bring strengths in corporate finance and advisory for Japan. As an advisor for A and People, I utilize my language expertise to evaluate the English translation of Investor Relations material for Japanese companies.
My interest in Japan stemmed from a 3-month tour with Disney On Ice in 1993. I returned to Japan in 1999 with a Fulbright at Osaka U to research Japan's Pension Crisis. While at Wharton, I won the 2004 Thesis Prize at the Lauder Institute for "Corporate Pension Reform in Japan: Big Bang or Big Bust?" At Morgan Stanley, I co-authored reports with Japanese analysts on topics, such as pensions, leases, and ROE, and I worked closely with investment bankers in Tokyo to analyze profitability and value creation of their Japanese corporate clients.
