Working out of Aeon’s head office in Nagoya, I handled a host of responsibilities including, first and foremost, conducting effective English lessons for employees at leading corporations in Japan’s Chubu (central) region and ensuring that the students in my charge made clear and measurable progress within limited periods of time. Other responsibilities included translation of all documents requiring translation from Japanese to English within Aeon Central’s Corporate Department; designing and authoring textbooks and courses tailored specifically to individual corporate clients; collaborating with other Lead Corporate Instructors on designing agendas and curricula to ensure student progress; implementing a systematic, methodical training program for Corporate Division part-time instructors; and hiring part-time instructors, overseeing their training, observing their performance, and providing positive feedback.
