Responsibilities: Led procurement activities in China, and oversaw inbound and outbound operations. Supported the opening of WholeTex, LLC, a sister company registered in the USA with the intention of expanding to that market in coming years. Travelled extensively to the USA, primarily to liaise with prospective clients in New York and to build relationships with potential suppliers in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Retained responsibilities relating to previous Unit International Group role, when Unit International was absorbed into its parent company, Comercial K Hage Ltd.
Achievements:
Through negotiations with local freight companies in Brazil, achieved a reduction on delivery costs, from 2.5% to 1.4% of sales.
Working within the complex Brazilian tax system, aligned accountability, invoicing and logistics operations to maintain compliancy with local regulations when shipping goods through more than 10 Brazilian states, avoiding potential penalties.
Unit International Group Ltd

Responsibilities: Operational management of the procurement office of Comercial K Hage Ltda. Implemented procurement strategy in China with a budget of US$ 20 million per annum.
As the exclusive buying office of ComerciaI K Hage Ltda, purchased circa 200 containers per annum of both knitted and woven garments, 70% womenswear and 30% menswear.
Achievements:
Created quality control procedures and developed a robust process for direct sourcing affordable suppliers in China, primarily focussed in southeast China as the hub of apparel manufacturing in Asia. Direct sourcing resulted in a 30% reduction in price.
In addition, 99% of containers were delivered on time, and the defective product return rate was reduced to under 2%.
