My role supported Raices de Esperanza's back-end to provide services to all our teams and help them function more efficiently. Some tasks included: New employee recruitment (from application writing, marketing, pre-screening, and formal interviewing, to offering the position); Managing and reviewing contracts and maintaining legal documents; Developing and coordinating our summer and autumn/spring internship and fellowship programs (from recruitment to setting out their summer task plans).

Under my leadership, the organisation grew by 25% within the first 45 days of my appointment. Primary functions which I decided to focus on were more tedious but necessary, such as updating records, consolidating our lists, and cleaning up the back-end.

I prepared two reports: one on the issues affecting homeless families in Martin County and another on water supply issues in Monroe County (Florida Keys & Key West). Both required in-depth research (online, in the library, field research, interviewing local officials, talking with experts on the phone, and more).

The reports gave the Florida Governor a better idea of the issues affecting local communities and provided suggestions to lessen negative effects.
