Responsibilities included:
 Assisting with proofreading and editing translated materials for large companies
(such as Shiseido, AEON, AEON REIT, etc.), including various press releases,
financial reports, and detailed yearly statements.
 Translation from Japanese to English.
 Working directly with department managers, the Chairman of the company,
and the President of the company, Fumihisa Oshimi, with scheduling, creating
spending reports, taking meeting notes and other necessary tasks.
 Working with a close group of other editors, as well as with outside Japanese
clientele. Independent work and travel was also required.

Japanese Content Editor/Social Media Representative

Responsibilities included:
 Assisting with creating and editing content for a start-up language learning
website, FluentU. Working remotely, both independently and with other editors.
 Finding, translating, parsing, editing and inserting subtitles into video footage for
students.
 Working directly with language learners to explain difficult concepts and answer
questions relating to the website and functionality.

 Regularly working with editors, to discuss my translations, and improve any

 Working on editing/translating raw Japanese footage for a PBS documentary
series titled ‘Sacred Journeys’.
 Differentiate between good and bad takes, and interpreingt word for word live
for a video editor.

Responsibilities included:
 Preparing books for processing into the computer system (Indaba.)
 Sorting titles and uploading information, including condition details of books.
 Light warehouse work, shelving and preparing orders for mailing.
 Correcting any errors in the system at the end of the day, and discussing strategy
with managers and other employees.

Japan Exchange and Teaching Program

Assistant Language Teacher

Responsibilities included:
 Chosen out of thousands of applicants to participate in this exchange
program. Taught English language to Elementary through Middle school
students.
 Worked in a high-energy and very busy Japanese office setting,
creating activities, answering phones, and filing.
 Used both Japanese and English interchangeably, used creativity to
engage children and adults in English, and learned office management
skills, dictation and improved both team and independent skills.

Curves International

 Servicing members in training and taught the Curves circuit workout.
 Setting appointments, computer input and electronic upkeep, data entry,
