Education

Description

University of Groningen

2016/09~ 2019/07

I have just graduated with a bachelors in English Language and Culture at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. One of the many reasons I chose to study an English Degree in the Netherlands is due to the broad scope the University of Groningen offer with regard to different approaches to the study of literature, and the ability to study a minor in Development Studies alongside my bachelors. Additionally, I have a considerable desire to work with people of different national, cultural, and religious backgrounds and believe that a multicultural setting is beneficial for all, contributing to innovation, flexibility, and tolerance within the workplace, and civil society as a whole.

I have just completed my dissertation in which I have succeeded in combining the two fields of development and literature through a demonstrated focus on the relationship between global development and human rights controversies, and how this is reflected in colonial discourse, and postcolonial literature. Although I have not yet received my final grade, I am currently averaging a 2.1 and am predicted to achieve a 1st at the end of my degree.
