Spearheading the first large scale overseas expansion in garment manufacturing with facilities over 60,000 sq. mts., touched exports of $1.5 Mn per month and growing fast to reach $100 Mn per annum.
• Leading the business development and project management operations for Envisol – a group company – providing technology solutions in waste water treatment for large industries and corporations, secured projects worth $95 Mn in Ethiopia within one year. Currently expanding to rest of Africa.
• Main Responsibilities include
o Understanding and addressing all aspects of setting up a new business/industry in a new country including anticipating and managing various risks associated with the operations in a new geography
o Preparing the strategic and operational plans for the expedited growth of manufacturing business
o Liaising with the highest-level government bodies, ministries and policy makers as a trusted advisor
o Activation of the operations strategy through facility installations, recruitments, training, capacity and efficiency build ups and performance enhancements in line with market/client expectations
o Working with the ministries and parastatal bodies to develop the industry-academia bridge for a fast-track industrialized growth of the Ethiopian economy through capacity building
o Managing the timely execution of three large scale projects ($95 mn) for setting up effluent treatment plants in the Industrial Parks being built by the government
o Market and Business Development activities in both the government and private sector in Africa region for Water and Effluent Treatment and Sludge Management business of Envisol
