Special Issues & Journal Development Team Leader

Monitor and control the process of developing new
special Issues or Journals in a timely 
manner and according to the quality standards 

Oversee the workflow in order to identify errors and o
missions during the Special Issues and 
Journals Development process, and take the needed 
actions for enhancing this process 

Monitor the performance of the team to guarantee the
 attainment of the quarterly 
objectives 

Ensure the use of innovative information technology to
ols to enhance the process and 
maximize efficiency 
 Coordinate with Information Technology department 
to develop and test new 
tools/features to the Business Development System 
(BDS) 

Check unsolicited proposals for new special issues to

make sure that they meet the set 
standards 
 Check any needed updates and modifications needed 
in the invitations and reminders 
templates 
 Communicate with the ISSN office either to get ISSN
numbers for the newly acquired 
journals or to change the journals’ titles 
 Assist in planning the team objectives, required 
resources, and timescales required to meet 
the objectives of the team 

Handle any inquiries/irregular cases that arise during the 
work cycle.
