• This job gave me the chance to meet UNIX (SCO) for the first time, together with Informix databases and Informix 4GL and SQL.
• My job consisted in creating new programs or changes the existent ones in order to meet the clients’ requirements.
• My major achievement here was to develop by my own a whole module of the system, dedicated to handle “Payment Liquidations Annulations”.

As part of the Argentina Armed Forces, the Air Force is responsible for the air space sovereignty custody, air traffic control, and several others tasks related to the air space care.

• After 4 years as a Cadet at the Military Aviation School in Córdoba, I graduated as Second Lieutenant, as a member of the General Personnel.
• I entered to the Instituto Universitario Aeronáutico, which belongs to the Air Force and where Aeronautical Military Engineers are prepared, in order to study System Engineering. I graduated in 1995.
• I was assigned as a Chief of Department in the Technical Group of the 9th Air Brigade in Comodoro Rivadavia (Chubut Province) for a year. My major achievement here was to begin the automation of the airships parts expirations, in order to schedule its mainteinance and replacement. I also had the chance to have experience as a leader.
• Afterwards I was assigned to be a Chief of Area in the Air Traffic Direction, Air Regions Command in Buenos Aires, for four years. My major achievements were:
o To develop the first and second “Air Regions Command Statistical Compendium”: a detailed history of the activities developed by the Command in the last years. Here, it was possible to see for example the behaviour of the air traffic in the country, and made forecasts and plan in consequence.
o The air traffic personnel was being paid a special bonus for their acitivietes. All the process of controlling the people, the amount of hours they work, etc, was done manully. Another achievement of mine was to use Excel (in the first step) and Acess eventually as tools to accelerate payments, decisions and managing of this system. I had to prepare my people in order to be able to handle these tools (since they didn´t at that time).

Informix 4GL Analyst Programmer
• I had the opportunity to be part of a group of programmers (Informix 4GL and Visual Basic) to perform a migration of the Credit Cards Transaction Records System (composed of plain text files from several payment companies like Visa and Mastercard, to transform them an insert them into the company’s systems), from Oracle database and applications, to Informix. This was done in the “Supermercados Tia” company, which was bought by “Supermercados Norte”.
• The mayor achievement in this job was to finish the project in the scheduled time.
• I began working here with shell scripts and an important amount of tables and records belonging to critical systems.

CONTENIDOS.COM, Argentina

Contenidos.com was an ambitious web project led by “Programas Santa Clara” group (TV Quality, History Channel, etc.) in order to set up one of the first Argentina e-learning sites.

• My responsibilities there were:
o To assess the IT Director in the software buying and development processes.
o To gather requirements for internal systems and translate them into a database structure and an application requirement for our programmers.
o To cooperate with the IT director in the hosts administration (development and production hosts, one in Argentina and the other in the US).
• In this job I had the chance to learn a lot about Internet Technologies: Linux, HTML, CSS, Apache, PHP and MySQL.

MONROE - AMERICANA, Argentina

• I was a system operator in charge of:
o Launching systems processes first thing in the morning, so to allow the Automatic Orders Preparation System to begin working.
o Daily, weekly and Monthly tape backup tasks on the Oracle databases of the company.
o Eventual recovery tasks.
o High-speed printers (part of the Automatic Orders Preparation System) problems solution.
• My main achievement in this job was to successfully implement the Legato Neworker backup solution, in order to allow automatic and remote daily backup of the Oracle databases located in Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Mendoza and San Luis branches of the company (from the Buenos Aires headquarters). This also involved several HP-UX administration tasks (disks setup and Legato Installation).

• I was the last step of the QA (Quality Assurance) process for the web content publication of the following sites: www.disneylatino.com , www.disney.com.br , www.jetixtv.com , www.jetix.com.br, www.miravistafilms.com.
• I dealt with banners ads publication and statistics.
• I was also in charge of the monthly and special events (promotions, movies or video/DVD launches, etc.) newsletters.
• I worked on weekly, monthly and regular updates in the sections of the sites, related to TV shows (Disney Channel and Jetix), and non regular updates (gifts for kids, products launches, etc.).
• I had to publish online photos taken at a TV show (Zapping Zone) for Latin America (North and South) and Brazil feeds.
• I worked with a Content Administration Tool, based on JSP and MS-SQL2000, which let agencies (who develop the content required by Disney) drop files in a testing environment. There, I did the needed tests and then deploy them to the live site. Hitbox and Akamai technologies were involved in the process.
• In several occasions, I had to solve critical problems on the live sites (involving text modifications) using Unix commands and Perl scripts.
• I also acted as a coordinator between Disney and the agencies requirements (email account creation, database updates, subdomain creations, etc.) and London / USA IT and Helpdesk people.

• I had to ask all the Regional HQ personnel about their technology needs, besides the ones from the countries branches ones.
• Monitoring and auditing users was also my responsibility.
• I was able to implement and customise several Open Source software: Owl (a Knowledge Base and document manager), PHPBB (a phorum application), Mantis (a bug tracker software), all based in PHP and MySQL.

• I developed jobs and transformations using Pentaho Data Integration (www.pentaho.org) software, for a regional project. The project involves the extraction, transformation and loading information from several databases (Oracle, Informix, SQL Server 2005), to update important information of the customers.

• I worked transforming business requirements into software configurations. Working on the core business application (contact center, billing, provisioning, wharehouse), I also deal with incidents management and resolution.

• I lead a team of analysts in several areas (system administration, core application, business intelligence, helpdesk and networking) to provide solutions based in IT. I am responsible for the services given by IT Caribbean to the business.
