John is a Management Consultant in the Strategy and Operations Unit. He has six years of experience majoring in procurement, logistics and supply chain management, finance, banking and commerce.
Previous assignments include;
Megatrade’s Beverages Ltd – August 2018 – October 2018
Megabeverages enlisted the consultancy services of PwC to facilitate the development of a new forward-looking 2019-2021 strategic plan. John’s roles were as follows;
a) Development of production plan for wines and spirits meeting all the requirements of the supply chain and forecasted demand
b) Recommending distribution channels for wines and spirits in Tanzania and in export markets of Rwanda and Kenya
c) Financial modelling of wines and spirits revenue projections for 5 years
d) Developing implementation plan of the production model and supply of wines and spirits across the target markets.
e) Documenting the strategic plan with a revenue model.
Brother Andre Medical Centre – February 2018 – June 2018
Brother Andre Medical Centre (BAMC), a medical facility located in Dandora Phase 4 engaged PwC to develop a 5 Year Strategic Plan that defines business priorities in terms of services, capabilities and target patients where BAMC can possess a sustainable competitive advantage in the medium and long term.
John’s role in the project are as follows;
a) Conducting customer surveys and interviews
b) Conducting a market and competitor analysis
c) Assessing the financial capabilities of the client
d) Developing a revenue model for the client for the entire health value chain
e) Documenting the 5 year strategic plan with a financial model
UAP Old Mutual; September 2017 – February 2018
UAP OM contacted PwC Kenya to carry out a strategic cost reduction, controls and efficiency project.
John’s roles in the project are as follows;
a) Obtain and review UAP OM General Insurance motor claims information, SLAs with service providers and KPIs
b) Obtain and review UAP OM General Insurance motor claims spend data
c) Review UAP OM lean initiatives implemented in motor claims
d) Assess motor claims baseline costs and third party expenditure for all suppliers
e) Hold interviews and workshops with the key stakeholders in claims management
f) Develop motor claims spend cube and suppliers spend
g) Identify areas of potential savings within claims management supply chain
h) Quantify savings opportunities
Jim McFie Education Fund; January 2016 – August 2017
Jim Mcfie Education Fund contacted John to help them realign their operations in order to improve service delivery to scholars and education partners.
John’s roles were as follows;
i) Preparation and reviewing the Fund’s budget and Financial strategy
j) Preparation of the Fund raising strategy
k) Development of scholars continuous assessment frameworks
l) Leading scholars selection
m) Preparation of monthly reports to the Board of Trustees
n) Organizing and coordinating of fund raising events
o) Overseeing all logistical roles of the Fund
John was Head of Operations at McFie Education Fund
Entec Global Company; May 2015 –September 2015
Entec Global Company partnered with University of Portsmouth under the UK’s Knowledge Transfer Program with the aim of improving the company’s logistics and supply chain function.
John’s role in the program was to perform the following tasks:
a) Baseline Entec’s clients procurement spend on spare parts and supplier costs
b) Analysis of spare parts consumption trends and supplier costs
c) Determine the inventory model of the MRO inventory
d) Consolidate MRO spend (Maintenance, repair, and operations) within identified categories
e) Propose a forecasting model, which can predict when Entec’s client will require spare parts, adequate inventory levels and re-order point
f) Prepare a report on MRO inventory management as part of knowledge management initiative of the University of Portsmouth
John was a KTP associate in this program.
Standard Chartered Bank – Kenya; March 2014 – August 2014
Standard Chartered Bank Kenya Limited hired John in a project involving analyzing SME customer’s data in Africa for improved risk management.
John’s roles were as follows;
a) Reviewing SME customers nature of business
b) Analyzing the SME’s company structures and ownership
c) SME customer’s analysis of their revenues and relationship with the bank
d) Perform end-to-end due diligence on SME customers in Africa
e) Develop a broad understanding of the global macro-economic environment including views and data from external providers
f) Help develop accurate models of analyzing clients data in line with Standard Bank Global operations model
g) Ensure that documentation of the SME customers is kept up to date.
John was a Customer Due Diligence Officer at Standard Bank of Kenya Limited.
