Responsibilities:
- Pitch and write original and aggregated news content
- Attend news conferences, record notes in shorthand and/or on tape
- Follow current events, always looking for a story opportunity and investigating stories
- Fact-checking information provided by various of sources
- Publish three articles per week
- Able to work quickly and independently
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Interviewing people in a wide range of circumstances
- Building contacts and sources for use in future stories
- Able to work with a within a tight deadline
- General understanding of current events
- Good communication skill skills, both written and oral
- Strong editing and proofreading skills
- Confident and good networking skills
