Description
Waraugumi
Writer
2016/01~
I write for a blog called Waraugumi. It's a blog about Japan and Japanese Culture. It also features products and services from Japan. The main target audience is Singapore. My alias on the blog is Laughing Samurai. My focus has been on food and places of interest. I also did a video blog with the team for their article - Surviving in Japan, a post about ways to save cost while enjoying a holiday in Japan. I love Japan very much and have been writing about it for 2 years now. I have recently started a new series of articles on the site about Japanese History.
Singapore Institute of Management (Global Education)
Part Time Writer
2014/07~ 2014/09
This was my debut in writing for a publication. SIM was launching their first Career Guidebook. It features career planning advice and how to make the best use of time in university. I interviewed three students (1 alumnus, 2 current students at the time). I transcribed their interview and wrote an inspiring article. My editors enjoyed my column and put all three into the guidebook.
Joizu Pte Ltd
Part-Time Social Media Marketing
2016/01~ 2016/08
Joizu was a distribution company for Solar-powered watches, manufactured by Citizen Japan. I was hired to do social-media marketing for the company. I created Ads and Facebook posts to garner attention. Our facebook attention went from close to zero to 400 in 3 months and then 800 subsequently until I left the company. The engagement was very strong overseas and there was a growing influence in the Singapore market.
