La Société forestière de la Caisse de dépôts et de gestion (SFCDG) est ainsi la première société de gestion d’actifs forestiers au Maroc. Au capital de 5 millions de DH, elle est détenue à hauteur de 70% par CDG Développement, filiale du groupe CDG, et à 30% par la première société de gestion d’actifs forestiers en Europe, filiale de la CDC. A noter que la Société forestière de la CDC gère un patrimoine de 200.000 ha en France et 90 fonds forestiers environ. De même, la SFCDG va gérer, dans un premier temps, deux fonds dont l’un existe déjà depuis quelques années, créé par CDG Développement, ce Fonds Eucaforest. Ce fonds constitue «un véhicule d’investissement dédié exclusivement à la production et la commercialisation de stocks de bois d’eucalyptus pour le compte de Cellulose du Maroc». Une façon d’assurer la sécurisation de l’approvisionnement de sa maison mère, dit-on au sein de la direction des suivis de développement des filiales de CDG. Eucaforest gère environ 30.000 ha dédiés de plantations de bois d’eucalyptus dont plus des 2/3 sont déjà plantés et en production. Le second, appelé Fonds Maroc Forêts (FMF), est créé par la CGD en partenariat avec la CDC. «Il aura pour finalité la production de bois suivant des modalités de gestion et de développement durable.» Selon de toutes premières informations, ce fonds investira à la fois dans les plantations de bois d’eucalyptus pour le marché local et dans la production de bois d’oeuvre.
