This was a photo I took when I got the chance to visit Mt. Fuji last year. Our group was serviced by a shuttle bus to Mt. Fuji's fifth station. It was there at the foot of the mountain that I had my first look at what seemed to be snow. It was my first time to it, even if it's the type that just covers the ground and not falling from the sky. I could not contain my delight! I sat on the snow for quite some time before hiking with the rest of the group. Once we reached the designated stop, I looked around, breathing in the chilly air. I could not help but let out a sigh as I was not really prepared to see that much beauty all at once. Beyond the altitude and the freezing temperature laid out this vast nature that was truly one great masterpiece. It was so breathtaking that it actually hurt a little to look... so I tried capturing the moment void of color, just to see if the black and white setting of my mobile phone camera would tone down the beauty. Lo and behold, the absence of greens, blues, whites and everything in between did not seem to affect the majesty of it all. I was glad that I took this piece at this exact moment, with everything seeming to be just frozen in time and place.
