    This study was conducted to compare the profitability of green house and open field production of chrysanthemum in Daclan, Tublay, Benguet. Furthermore, it aimed to find out the problems encountered and solutions employed by the chrysanthemum growers in this study area. There were 20 respondents, ten each from the green house and open field chrysanthemum producers.
    The finding shows that the respondents from the greenhouse producers are younger and have higher level of educational attainment than those from the open field producers. The farm areas devoted to chrysanthemum is small. The growers are producing 15 different varieties of chrysanthemum. Farmers are using commercial fertilizers and pesticides in producing chrysanthemum and they are producing their own planting materials. The finding also shows that producing chrysanthemum under greenhouse condition is more profitable than producing in open field. This is because of the difference in quality and therefore higher price for chrysanthemums planted in green house. The common problem encountered by the chrysanthemum growers in Daclan, Tublay, Benguet are the occurrences of pest and diseases and the lack of capital. To solve their problems, farmers used pesticides to control pests and disease. To solve the lack of capital, the growers applied different solutions like borrowing from relatives and other producers, applying for loans, and making contract with suppliers or financiers.
