The digital era has tremendous influence in the business industry starting from management to marketing. Technological advancement has enormous influence in the execution of nearly every task in the corporate world. Regardless of the advancement of the technology, further innovations are yet to be established (Chaffey, Chadwick, Guerin, & Volle 2017). Digital marketing is a product of technological advancement in the 21st century. HMV Retail Limited is a UK based organization that has undergone numerous challenges and gradual failure mainly due to poor marketing strategies and ineffective utilization of digital marketing tools. Having been founded in 1921, the company had survived through the difficulties and grown at various points until the in the recent past when the company was forced to undergo receivership (HMV 2018). Due to its stability and prowess through the difficulties, its competitors such as Virgin Megastores and Our Price have implemented better strategies to overcome it in the entertainment industry. HMV Retail Limited faces potential challenges in the marketing section. For this reason, the importance of the need to revive the company in terms of digital marketing and overall growth is quite apparent. As a newly appointed Digital Marketing Manager, I look forward towards reviving HMV Retail as part of my new role through carrying a potential investigation of some more effective strategies to fortify and improve the performance of the organization’s digital marketing.
