You Make Me Real
YOU MAKE ME REAL
A contemporary romance with a criminal twist
The famous dancer Michael Layton, on a contract with MET,
raves (in the company of his friend Olivier Burnett II, a
well-known celebrity), drinks, snorts and sleeps with men
and women. In the ballet school where he teaches, he meets
Adela Carew – a dancer. He invites her to parties, and
tries too forcefully to get her into bed, which ends their
relationship.
One day, after a large cocaine dose, the dancer meets with
an accident, which ends his career.
He decides to deal drugs at parties, with the help of his
former dealer. Deliveries of the drugs are left on
fishing vessels in the port. Everything goes well, until
the murder of the supplier and a police raid on him.
Michael escapes and seeks help from Adela, who lives in
the area. She lends him her car and reports the theft to
the police.
Their relationship continues. Michael moves in with her.
He's still a dealer. Adela falls in love with him, driving
around the city, pulling him out of clubs, more and more
stoned and she insists on rehab, but it has no effect. It
gets worse.
Adela is exhausted and asks a doctor friend about sleeping
pills. One day, she drinks a bottle of wine and overdoses
on the pills. Michael finds her unconscious and drives to
Barring’s Clinic. Waiting in the clinic he swears that if
she survives he will break the habit. The doctor informs
him that her brain has hypoxia and Adela will be disabled.
She is alone and dr.Barring wants to put her into an
institution. Michael promises to get a job and take care
of her.
After arguing with Barring, Michael contacts a family
friend, Philip Machen, and asks him for help. He goes to
Philip's cabin in the mountains and struggles with his
addiction.
After a long time he succeeds and finds a job in TV. He
creates a dance group and gets permission to take care of
Adela. He achieves great success and after the release of
the clip with his choreography, the team celebrates . In
the pub, Michael sees a girl very similar to Adela on TV,
she is dancing at a Festival in Vail, but the bartender
switches the channel. Michael looks for the performance on
a laptop and with amazement he sees that this not a
similar girl, but Adela !!
He runs home and there follows a series of screams,
apologies, tears and an explanation of the whole
intrigue .
Going to retrospection, we learn that the overdose of
pills after alcohol was accidental and harmless, and the
illness was simulated, to force Michael to quit drug
dealing and addiction.
He feels cheated, but acknowledges that her idea was
effective. It led to a change in his attitude to life and
him finding a great job. The story ends with the
confession of feelings and a happy ending.
