I have been freelance interpreting and translating for the past 7 years. Currently, I work as a full-time Japanese<->English consecutive interpreter over the telephone for Language Line Solutions. When I am not tied to the phone, I am on-site interpreting for the public schools in San Francisco, California, (U.S.A.) where I currently reside, as well as do labor wage compensation meetings at the offices of the Department of Labor for the State of California. My translation experience has been varied, and I have translated instruction manuals for LED lamps, PowerPoint slides on nanotechnology (graphite), transcribed a Japanese video regarding travel abroad (outside of Japan) and subtitled it in English, and have translated a Microsoft Visual Studio lecture in Japanese. My stronger language is English since I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and have a degree in English Literature from the University of California, Berkeley (August 2002).
