ボストン在住の阿部綾花です。小学生の頃に渡米し、アメリカの高校・大学を主席で卒業したバイリンガルです。言語だけでなく、両方の文化に精通しており、微妙なニュアンスなども考慮して翻訳を行なっております。

大学で生物学・心理学を専攻し、卒業後はハーバードメディカルスクールで研究系の仕事をしておりました。なので、生物系・心理学系の翻訳が得意です。現在は、二つの文化の狭間で育った経験を生かし、翻訳や英会話講師などの仕事をしております。

Aya Abe is Japanese. She moved from Japan to the United States at the age of 10, and began adapting to US culture. She was named her high school’s Salutatorian. Thereafter, she put herself through university on academic scholarships, attending Kalamazoo College. There she received awards as the top student in both the Biology and Psychology Departments.

Following college, while working in research positions in molecular biology at Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital, Aya found herself frequently requested to give advice to visiting expats and their families, based on her vantage point as a person who understood both US and Japanese cultures and languages.

For over 3 years, Aya has been working as a translator and cross-cultural trainer.
