What is escrow payment?

Escrow payment is the money that a client (user that is hiring a freelancer) sends to Workshift as advance payment of a job. Workshift holds this money until the client inspects the freelancer’s work and clicks “work is done”. Then Workshift sends the payment to the freelancer less the system user fee.

Timing of the escrow payment.

Timing of escrow payment depends on the type of job.

In the case of “Project-type job”, you are required to pay in the escrow when you hire a freelancer. No costs are therefore incurred for posting this type of job.

In the case of “Competition-type job”, you are required to pay in the escrow when you post the job. In addition, you are obliged to select the winner and purchase its work for this type of job.

Choice of payment methods.

Workshift offers 3 ways to make payments: bank transfer, credit card, or PayPal. (For Amex credit card users please select PayPal and proceed to the PayPal screen for instructions.
