Job types and payment timing
There are two types of jobs on Workshift: Project-type and Competition-type.
Project type
Project-type is where after the job is posted online freelancers apply for the job by filling out an application. This type is good for jobs such as research, translation, marketing, and website development.Competition type
Competition-type requires the client who posts the job to pay in advance. The freelancers are required to submit a design or product at the time they apply for the job. Logos, banners and naming are samples of jobs that are suitable for competition type jobs.Payment timing
The payment timing for these two types of jobs differs. For a project-type job the client must make escrow payment as soon as a freelancer is hired. In other words, payment is not required when the job is posted but rather afterward when a freelancer is hired. In contrast, for competition-type jobs, escrow payment is required when a job post request is made. The competition-type post will not be displayed until escrow payment is confirmed. It is IMPORTANT to remember that the client posting a competition-type job must choose (hire) a winner from among the job applicants.
