Workshift Job Request Guidelines

This guideline provides examples of job requests that are prohibited under Article 18 of the Terms of Use. Please note that job requests not listed here are also prohibited if they are deemed to fall under any of the items related to Article 18.

1. Requests that infringe intellectual property rights

Requests that infringe or may infringe on the intellectual property rights (such as copyrights, trademarks, etc.) of our company, other users, or third parties; or infringe or may infringe on the property, privacy, or portrait rights of other users or third parties. For example:

  • Requesting copying of part of a third party’s article, photo, design, source code, or other copyrighted materials without the copyright holder’s permission or proper citation.
  • Requesting modification of part of a third party’s article, photo, design, source code, or other copyrighted materials without the copyright holder’s permission.
  • Requesting the creation or purchase of pirated copies of music, movies, games, software, counterfeit brand goods, or other similar content.
  • Requesting photography or similar activities without the subject’s consent.
  • Requesting jobs that violate agreements with third parties or terms of external services.

2. Promotional activities and misuse of the Service

Unless prior written consent is obtained from Workshift Solutions, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”), it is prohibited to use the online job-matching platform operated by Workshift Solutions, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “the Service”) for sales activities, profit-making purposes, or preparatory activities for such purposes (Article 18, Item 14). It is also prohibited to request tasks that involve misleading representations on review websites, blogs, social media platforms, or similar channels, that make a product or service appear superior or more advantageous than it actually is (Article 18, Item 22). For example:

  • Requesting the purchase of products unrelated to the task or the payment of fees such as membership fees that are not included in the agreed contract amount.
  • Proxy purchase and shipment services where costs are excluded from the agreed contract amount.
  • Requests related to multi-level marketing or similar schemes.
  • Jobs requiring registration with external services, newsletter subscriptions, app downloads, and similar actions.
  • Requests intended for promoting your own or third-party products or services.
  • Requesting specific content for reviews, testimonials, or user comments.
  • Requesting jobs that require a set number of clicks on websites, links, or banners.
  • Requesting YouTube views, Facebook likes, Twitter follows, Gmail account creation, Hatena bookmarks, NAVER Matome articles, LINE sticker gifts, and similar tasks.
  • Requesting jobs related to flea market apps.
  • Requests involving flea market apps or proxy listings on e-commerce platforms.

3. Legal and regulatory compliance

Using the Service without completing legally mandated procedures such as submitting notifications to relevant authorities or obtaining necessary permits or licenses, as required by applicable laws and regulations. Also includes any conduct that violates, or may potentially violate, such laws (Article 18, Item 15). For example:

  • Requesting medical acts, or the creation or editing of medical content that should not be expressed without a doctor's supervision, from freelancers who are not licensed physicians.
  • Requesting legal services involving lawsuits from freelancers who are not licensed attorneys.
  • Requesting tax filing or document preparation from non-licensed tax professionals.

4. Acts obstructing service operation

Acts that obstruct or interfere with the operation of the online job-matching service provided by Workshift Solutions, Inc., as prohibited under Article 18, Item 16 of the Terms of Use. For example:

  • Requesting jobs without a genuine intention to outsource the task.
  • Requests intended to collect freelancers’ personal information.
  • Requesting jobs without specifying essential elements such as the task scope, procedure, specifications and quantity of deliverables, their functions, delivery deadlines, delivery location, working conditions, or disclaimers.
  • Posting multiple identical job requests.
  • Requesting jobs with compensation that is significantly lower than what is reasonable for the assigned task, or there is a large discrepancy between the stated budget and the actual payment.
  • Requests that interfere with our operations and advertising.
  • Attaching files that are obscene, offensive, or contain viruses or other harmful content.

5. Transactions outside the Service

Conducting transactions between members without using the Service, in violation of Article 18, Item 17 of the Terms of Use. For example:

  • Posting direct contact information (name, address, phone number, email, SNS ID, etc.) to bypass the platform.
  • Requesting freelancers to disclose direct contact information—such as name, address, phone number, email address, or SNS ID—for the purpose of conducting transactions outside the Service.
  • Requesting resumes or similar attachments from freelancers for the purpose of communicating outside the Service.
  • Requesting freelancers to attend seminars, job briefings, interviews, or similar in-person meetings with clients directly, bypassing the Service.
  • Suggesting or proposing direct transactions outside the Service.
  • Requesting jobs that include references to original payment methods or deadlines not authorized by the Terms of Use of the platform operated by the Company.

6. Employment contract related requests

Requesting jobs with the purpose or intention of forming employment contracts between users. For example:

  • Requesting jobs that attempt to recruit freelancers for full-time, contract, part-time, or temporary employment.
  • Requesting jobs that specify fixed working hours.
  • Requesting jobs that require freelancers to work on-site.

7. Violations of laws, public order, and morality

Acts that violate laws or the Terms of Use (including but not limited to Article 18, Items 26 and 27); acts that go against public order and morality; and other inappropriate or disruptive behavior. For example:

  • Requesting jobs that involve or promote fraud, pyramid schemes, or any other activity prohibited by law.
  • Requesting jobs that involve or imply sexual acts or services, or that instruct the freelancer to publish or distribute obscene materials.
  • Requests containing discriminatory expressions based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, etc.
  • Requests aimed at illegally collecting personal information.
  • Requests involving religious solicitation, election campaigning, and similar activities.
  • Requests for substitution in exams, coursework, bank account openings, and other activities that inherently require the individual's participation.
  • Requesting jobs that are intentionally misleading and designed to deceive freelancers.

8. Other inappropriate activities

Any other activity that the Company deems inappropriate for users (Article 18, Item 29).
